Collectables - Biscuit Barrel (C70)
This pretty biscuit barrel measures 5.5 inches in height (without handle) or 9 inches (with handle). The diameter at its widest part is 5 inches. The mark on the base states that it is Coronet Ware, Parrot & Co Ltd, Burslem, England. This company produced earthenware from 1921 until 1965 when manufacture ceased.
The barrel is a ppale peach colour and intended to replicate a barrel. It has dark pink and dark purple flowers painted on the front. The handle is metal which has pitted over the years. The glaze has crazed but I only noticed this when viewing the photos! The lid has been mended and this is barely noticeable (see last photo).
A nice, decorative item.
