Vintage Collectables - China Cake Stand (B)
This very pretty cake plate measures 11.5 inches x 10.5 inches (29cms x 27 cms). It stands 2.5 inches high on a silver coloured metal stand.
The plate has a dark red border interspersed with flowers and gold patterning on each side. The centre also has flowers handpainted on it (I can recognise roses, cornflowers, tulips, poppies, floxgloves, anemones and freesia. This is signed by L Caillibotte.
This plate comes from the Royal Crown Myotts factory in Staffordshire and was made in the 1930s. It is in excellent condition and has no cracks or chips, neither is there any crazing to the glaze. It was probably only used on very special occasions or even just displayed as it is so very decorative.
A really lovely plate.
