Enamelware - French Water Tank (KE652)
This French water receptacle would originally have been mounted on the wall with a basin underneath. It would be filled with water and there would be a tap on the underneath (part of this tap is missing). This would look great in a bathroom mounted on a wall with perhaps a plkain white bowl underneath (I have some for sale in the enamelware category) and it could be used for storage. There are two holes on the back for screws to attach it to a wall.
The whole tank measures (from knob on lid to tap) measures 21 inches, 9 inches width and 6 inches depth.
The enamel is in very good condition with just a tiny bit of rust on the bottom of the inside and hardly any chipping (just a few on the top of the back as shown in the photo). The finish is 'Snow on the Mountain' which is a lovely marbled effect blue on white enamel.
This is a very unusual item, rarely found and because it is in such good condition I think it would look stunning in a bathroom or kitchen.
