Kitchenalia - Enamelled Frying Pan (KU212)
This cast iron and enamelled pan dates from around the 1920s (cast iron pans with enamelled surfaces were available from 1840 onwards). It would have been specially made for use on a cookery range with a hob. The base was stepped to fit into a hob so that the bottom of the pan was not in contact with the fire. These types of pans are quite rare.
The shape of this pan is shamrock like and I think it would look good hanging on a kitchen wall or from a utensil rack above a kitchen unit or range. The measurement from tip of handle is 14.5 inches and each 'round' is 4 inches diameter.
As can be seen this pan seems to have been well used. The enamel has crazed and chipped over the years and the back has rusted.
An unusual piece of kitchenalia.
