Antique Linens - French Monogrammed Sheet (Double) (LS112)
I would say the monogram on this French metis sheet is either 'M C' or 'M G', sometimes they are hard to deicpher. This is worked in white embroidery over two branches or stems. The hem of the sheet above this is large, typically French, ladderwork.
To show off a monogram when the sheet is turned back, these sheets are always very long. This sheet measures 124 inches length by 80 inches width so is a double size.
The sheet is in good condition and has been frshly laundered ready for use. There is a small hole (almost 1 inch) which is 37 inches up from the bottom edge and some feint marks (both these imperfections are photographed) which may come out with further washing.
These sheets look stunning displayed in a guest bedroom.
