Collectables - Gladstone Bag (L102)
This Gladstone bag is quite small and could easily be used as a handbag. It measures 16 inches length by 8 inches height (not including handle) by 7.5 inches depth.
The condition is good and I have polished the leather and the brass catches. The inside has a pocket. Points to mention are there are some ink marks on the leather (but they aren't on the inside) and one of the covers on a brass catch is missing. The catch is nice and secure but there is no key.

(Gladstone bags were so called after the Prime Minister, 1809 - 1898, who was noted for the amount of travelling he did. The first Gladstone bag was designed and manufactured by J G Beard. He was an avid admirer of Gladstone, and named it to memorialise his name.)
