Kitchenalia - Grimwade's Quick Cooker (KU411)
This very collectable Grimwade's Quick Cooker measures 7 inches diameter and 4 inches height and has a 1.5 pint capacity.
These were made between 1890 and 1920. This one has the patent numbers 12835/09, 15045/09 and 12151/11. They were designed to cook steamed puddings with no cloth. the centre flange has a piece of pastry inserted into the top which creates a 'watertight seal for the lid when tied round with string'. The instructions are clearly visible all over the bowl and lid and the underneath of the lid advertises other Grimwade's products.
The bowl is in excellent condition but the lid has had two mended cracks and a chip (see photos).
