Architectural Antiques - Pair Cast Iron shelf Brackets
A wonderful pair of cast iron shelf brackets made by A Kenrick & Sons (this is clearly stamped on the side) who are a West Bromwich company established in 1791 and are still trading today.
These brackets also have 12 inch stamped on the side and, because of their size, were probably used in a stable.
Part of the side to a screw hole is missing on one bracket but once a screw was in place this wouldn't be quite so noticeable and, of course, if a shelf was on top this may obscure it as it is the top one of the two sets of screw holes on each bracket. Apart from this they are in very good condition. They have never been painted and I have wire brushed them to reveal that lovely cast iron patina.
